SBU investigation helps to sentence to 10 years in prison ex-minister of so-called Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea
Due to SBU investigation, Dniprovskyi District Court of Kyiv sentenced Petro Mikhalchevskyi, the former “Minister of Health” of the temporarily occupied Crimea, to 10 years in prison.
In early January 2018, SBU operatives found out that Mikhalchevskyi was in Kyiv.
He was directly involved in the creation of illegal authorities on the temporarily occupied peninsula. Within criminal proceedings, law enforcement officers confiscated the passport of a Russian citizen, an “official ID” signed by Aksonov and other documents confirming his cooperation with the occupation authorities.
Mikhalchevskyi received a notice of suspicion of committing a crime to the detriment of Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability, namely, facilitation of Russian sabotage activities against Ukraine.
The court found the “official” guilty of treason.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Main SBU Directorate in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea carried out legal supervision.
The verdict came into force.
