The SBU stopped the illegal activity of an organized criminal group. For USD 100,000, offenders promised a businessman to “settle” the issue of estate resumption due to contacts with law enforcement agencies. The pre-trial investigation is currently verifying this information.

SBU operatives detained two citizens on July 14 in a cafe on receiving the full amount of the illegal benefit.

Among the detainees is the alleged author of the scandalous “Yermak films”, who previously appeared in the recordings, which allegedly discussed the appointment of individuals to high government positions. Today's detention shows that authors of “notorious films” are ordinary swindlers.

Investigation is ongoing within a criminal proceeding initiated under Part 4 Art.190 and Part 4 Art. 369 of the Criminal Сode of Ukraine. The operation was conducted under the legal supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
