SSU Alfa Unit – ranked No. 1 among Defence Forces for fifth month running (video)
The SSU’s Alfa Special Operations Centre continues to lead all units of Ukraine’s Defence Forces in terms of number of targets hit and destroyed. Precise strikes against the enemy, both on the front line and deep behind enemy lines, combined with the skill and high level of training of drone operators, continue to inflict significant losses on the occupiers.
This week, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, highlighted Alfa’s leadership during a briefing by the SSU Acting Head, Oleksandr Poklad. The Head of State also signed off on new operations for the Service, as proposed by the Major General.
According to verified data, in July 2026, the Alfa neutralised nearly 6,000 occupiers.
The following were also destroyed:
- 8,748 UAVs and unmanned ground vehicles
- 3,297 motor vehicles
- 2,182 antennas and communications nodes
- 1,207 fortifications
- 549 UAV crews
- 233 depots with ammunition and equipment
- 67 armoured vehicles (20 tanks and 47 armoured fighting vehicles)
- 54 artillery systems and self-propelled guns
- 26 watercraft
- 23 air defence systems
- 22 radar/electronic warfare systems
- 18 multiple launch rocket systems
- 13 aircraft (destroyed: two Su-30s, one Su-30SM; damaged: one MiG-31BM, five Su-24s, one Su-27P, one Su-30, one Mi-8MTP, one Ka-27)
