SBU anti-terrorist drills are held in most Ukrainian regions

The SBU conducts and plans multi-stage anti-terrorist drills in most regions of Ukraine. During the trainings, increased attention is paid to working out actions to protect critical infrastructure facilities and state borders.

The drills are aimed at improvement of interagency cooperation to counter possible terrorist and subversive threats.

Energy and transport infrastructure is under increased protection during trainings.

The exercises are attended by regional SBU units, the National Police, the State Border Guard Service, the National Guard, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service, as well as representatives of executive authorities and local governments.

The drills are held under close to real conditions and with strict observance of citizen rights and freedoms.

During the exercises in some areas, it is possible to temporarily introduce a special regime, including restrictions or prohibitions on the movement of vehicles and pedestrians, checking of documents, inspection of cars, etc.

The SBU thanks for your understanding and asks to act in accordance with legal requirements of law enforcement bodies.

We also ask citizens to inform law enforcement officers in case of:

  • arrival or stay of suspicious individuals who show keen interest in military facilities, government buildings, critical infrastructure facilities and public places;
  • suspicious vehicles or unmanned aerial vehicles near strategic facilities;
  • detection of suspicious items or means of damage;
  • obtaining of information on intentions to commit terrorist and sabotage activities, or other illegal actions.
