SSU drones strike Ust-Luga oil terminal on Baltic Sea second time in week
Last night, long-range drones of the SSU Alfa Special Operations Centre successfully struck the infrastructure at the Ust-Luga oil terminal in Leningrad region, russia.
This is a key russian seaport on the Baltic Sea. Oil exports are carried out through it, including via vessels of the so-called shadow fleet.
‘The Security Service, together with the Defence Forces, continues systematic efforts to degrade the enemy’s financial and logistical capabilities. After all, russian oil facilities are integral to the state’s military-industrial complex, serving as the primary engine for the budget that finances the war against Ukraine. Therefore, special operations countering this will continue. russia will pay a high price for its aggression,’ said Acting Head of the SSU, Major General Yevheniy Khmara.
Today’s attack resulted in significant damage and a fire.
Notably, the Security Service has successfully struck the enemy’s oil infrastructure in the Baltic Sea four times over the past week.
Previous operations were carried out in close coordination with the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Special Operations Forces, the Unmanned Systems Forces, and the State Border Guard Service.
Earlier, drones of the SSU and the Defence Forces struck another key russian oil export hub in the Baltic Sea – the port of Primorsk. As a result of these strikes, fires were reported, and several oil cisterns were damaged.
