Following SSU’s investigation, suspicion notice served to Ukrainian judge who justified russia’s aggression (audio)
The SSU jointly with the SBI have collected evidence against a judge of Zvenyhorod District Court of Cherkasy region, who denied russia’s armed aggression and justified ruscists’ war crimes. When the crime was being documented, the suspect headed the district court.
The SSU has recordings of conversations in which the woman does not hide her pro-russian position and repeats the kremlin’s narratives about the war in Ukraine.
The investigation documented that the official had supported the seizure of Crimea and Melitopol and praised the introduction of ‘russian legislation’ there.
She also justified russian war crimes against civilians. In one episode, she considers russia’s missile attack on an apartment building in Dnipro in January 2023 ‘collateral damage’ during the war.
Based on the evidence collected, the official was served a notice of suspicion under Article 436-2.3 of the CCU (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants committed by an official).
According to the investigation, the woman used to be a judge of Yakymivka District Court in Zaporizhzhia region. After temporary occupation of that area, she was transferred in June 2022 to Cherkasy region. There, she was appointed judge and later elected head of the district court.
Further, the suspect planned to resign and move to the Crimea, but also receive a lifetime pension from the Ukrainian budget.
However, the SSU and the SBI derailed her plans, documented her criminal actions and are currently investigating to bring the offender to justice.
During the searches, the SSU found and seized foreign currency, including russian rubles, mobile phones and computer equipment.
The judge is facing up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
