SBU Head and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru discuss areas of security cooperation
SBU Head Ivan Bakanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Peru to Poland and Ukraine Alberto Salas discussed areas of bilateral security cooperation during a meeting on July 14. In particular, both parties are interested in signing an agreement on mutual protection of confidential information.
"Current transnational threats require enhanced cooperation between special services and law enforcement agencies around the world. Signing of the Agreement on Mutual Protection of Confidential Information will ensure effective information exchange between Peru and Ukraine, "said Ivan Bakanov.
Legal regulation of the information exchange facilitates successful countering of national and international security challenges, including drug smuggling.
Moreover, during the meeting, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to Poland and Ukraine expressed support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
"Ukraine is one of Peru's largest economic partners in the region. Recent trade enhancement between our countries points the interest in further development of relations at all levels, "said Alberto Salas.
