SBU Research Institute of Special Equipment and Forensic Science becomes member of European Network of Forensic Science Institutes
The Ukrainian Research Institute of Special Equipment and Forensic Science (ISTE) of the Security Service of Ukraine became a member of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI).
Membership in the ENFSI confirms the high level of institution’s expertise and professionalism. This contributes to improving the quality of forensic activities, as well as provides interaction on a wide range of issues with European partners. It accelerates the development of new forensic methods and implementation of modern approaches and international standards in expert practice.
“This is an important step for SBU ISTE, as the ENFSI membership is one of the strategic directions of development of our institution and forensic activities of the Security Service of Ukraine. Among other things, this is an opportunity to become a member of the ENFSI Working Groups of Experts,” said Director of the SBU ISTE Andrii Svintsytskyi.

ENFSI (The European Network of Forensic Science Institutes) is recognized as a leading forensic association of institutions that promotes the mutual exchange of information in the field of forensic science.
The purpose of the organization is to promote science and research, international cooperation, quality and competence, education and training, development in the field of forensic science.
The ENFSI is comprised of 73 organizations (expert institutions, forensic laboratories) from 39 European countries. One form of cooperation in the ENFSI is the holding of Working Group seminars with experts in specific domains. Currently, 17 working groups work effectively in the ENFSI, meeting alternately in different member countries.
