SBU Head Ivan Bakanov congratulated officers of the Cyber ​​Security Department on their professional holiday and presented them departmental awards.

“The modern world urges us to pay special attention to information and cyberspace. More people want to use development of technologies to their advantage. In addition, there are our joint efforts to counteract hybrid war. Under such conditions, the activity of the Cyber Security Department is a priority,” - the SBU Head said.

He emphasized high competence of the cyber experts in the fight against hacker attacks, Russian bot farms and fakes. Due to their activity, Ukrainian information resources and critical infrastructure facilities are under proper protection.

According to Ivan Bakanov, in 2020, one of the most successful special operations was blocking the illegal scheme in the State Tax Service, preventing UAH 35 billion (USD 1.2 billion) of state losses.

The SBU Head thanked the personnel for successful work and wished to stay strong in the pursuit of the goals, to develop and improve their skills.

We recall that the SBU neutralized 600 cyberattacks and cyber incidents on government information resources and critical infrastructure facilities during 2020.
