Canada will continue to support the people of Ukraine in the fight against russian aggression, as well as in defending territorial integrity and inviolability of our state.

This was discussed during the meeting between the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov and the Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine Larysa Galadza.

‘We are grateful to the Government of Canada and to the Canadian people for their unconditional support in the times when Ukraine has to face such challenges. On your part, these have always been clear and timely actions in the form of logistical and military assistance, introducing sanctions against russian officials and businesses,’ Ivan Bakanov pointed out.

The SSU Head briefed the delegation on the general security situation in the country and developments in the southern and eastern regions in particular.

The Ambassador stressed that Canada is well aware of the aggressor’s real aims.

‘Russia’s goal is not only to seize Ukrainian territories, but also to destroy Ukrainian identity. That is why our country and the whole civilized world will continue to support Ukraine in this struggle,’ Larysa Galadza assured.

Further cooperation between security agencies of Ukraine and Canada were also discussed at the meeting.

Canadian and Ukrainian security agencies are working closely in countering intelligence and subversive efforts of third states and cyber threats.
