The Security Service of Ukraine has opened a criminal proceeding on the fact of detection of a technical device at a potential location of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi. The case was initiated under Article 359.2 of the CCU (illegal purchase, sale or use of special technical means for obtaining information).

The SSU points out that the equipment was found not directly in Valeriy Zaluzhnyi’s office, but in premises that could have been used by him in the future.

According to preliminary conclusions, the detected object was not operational. No data storage devices or means of remote audio transmission were found. The item will be sent for examination.

The SSU is taking all necessary measures to investigate this incident.
