In Lviv region, the SBU CI officers jointly with the State Migration Service of Ukraine within the framework of the operation Migrant exposed and detained 24 Brazilian citizens illegally staying in Ukraine, who intended to enter the EU.

A local businessman, the former police officer, was involved in the illegal immigration scheme. He accommodated foreigners in his own hotel under the guise of football fans.

The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of possible involvement of the immigrants in crimes on the territory of Ukraine and abroad, and to identify other persons involved in the illegal movement of foreigners across the state boarder of Ukraine.

According to the current legislation, measures will be taken to deport foreigners and bring the perpetrators to justice.
