In Zakarpattia region, the SBU CI officers prevented an attempt to illegally export dual-use goods from Ukraine.

Among the seized items were a surveillance device for self-propelled artillery, tanks and armored personnel carriers, as well as a device for monitoring the results of damage to air and ground targets.

A local resident aimed to smuggle all these items to one of the EU countries.

SBU officers detained the suspect at the checkpoint.

The SBU investigators initiated criminal proceedings upon violation of procedure of international transfers of goods subject to state export control.

The investigation is ongoing to bring to justice other persons involved in the illegal activities.

The operation was carried out jointly with the State Customs Service under the supervision of Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor's Office.
