SBU CI prevents export of dual-use aircraft equipment from Ukraine

In Mykolaiv region, SBU CI officers disrupted smuggling of dual-use goods abroad. The dealers set out to smuggle part of the goods to countries under UN Security Council sanctions.

According to intelligence, the scheme was organized by representatives of one of the domestic transport airlines engaged in freight transportation to the Middle East and Africa. The smugglers planned to smuggle equipment and components for military transport aircrafts from Ukraine.

However, the first consignment of equipment was seized by law enforcement officers.

One of the smugglers received a suspicion notice of violation of procedure of international transfers of goods subject to state export control.

A pre-trial investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring to justice all persons involved.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of the Mykolaiv Region Prosecutor's Office jointly with the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
