SBU CI extracted a former militant of the “DNR” tank battalion from the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region. He provided critical information on the specific circumstances of the Russian armed aggression and military support of the Russian “DNR” militants. 

The man informed the SBU that Russian career officers coordinated mercenaries' actions, participated in supplies of tanks and other Russian military equipment. He also noted that instructors of the Russian Armed Forces trained IAF militants in camps and ranges nearby Rostov-on-Don.

The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed that the suspect did not directly took part in hostilities and did not commit other serious and felonies.

Taking into account these circumstances, the court released the former militant from criminal liability stipulated by Part 2 Art. 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
