In Kherson region, the SBU CI officers exposed and detained an RLF militant. The former resident of Yalta city was a member of the so-called Yalta people`s militia of Crimea. The armed man patrolled streets of Ukrainian cities.

In February-March of 2014, the militant actively opposed to peaceful protests and intimidated pro-Ukrainian residents of Crimea. 

Allegedly, the Russian Ministry of Defense awarded him a medal “For the return of Crimea”.

The SBU CI detained the militant after his return to Ukraine.

The SBU served him a suspicion notice of creation of unlawful paramilitary or armed formation. The type of detention is being chosen.

The operation was carried out by the National Police under the supervision of the Prosecutor`s Office of the AR of Crimea.
