SBU CI detains AF of Ukraine serviceman, recruited by “DNR”

Counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the pre-trial investigation, he was recruited by the so-called "DNR Ministry of State Security" controlled by Russian special services.

The operatives of the special service established that by the order of curators, the attacker collected and transmitted information about the locations, forces and means of one of the airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces, which participates in the JFO. He also took the initiative to express readiness to carry out active acts of sabotage against the Ukrainian army. To this end, the serviceman collected weapons and means of destruction that had been detected and seized during authorized searches.

Law enforcement detained the agent of enemy special service according to Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The offender was served suspicion notice of committing a creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization.

Urgent investigative actions are underway. The activities were carried out under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Military and Defense Spheres of the Joint Forces.
