SSU National Academy cadets take military oath of allegiance to Ukrainian people (video)
The cadets of the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine have taken the military oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people.
They were congratulated on this solemn occasion by the SSU Deputy Head Oleksandr Yakushev, the Academy leadership and the wife of the perished Hero of Ukraine Dmytro Kaplunov.
The course will bear his name: SSU Colonel Kaplunov was one of the best snipers of the SSU Special Operations Centre ‘A’ and was killed in 2019 in the line of duty while performing a task in eastern Ukraine.
‘In the times of a full-scale war, you have chosen protection of Ukraine as your future profession and vocation. I appreciate that you chose the SSU Academy rather than any other classical university in Ukraine or abroad. This already speaks about your motivation,’ Oleksandr Yakushev emphasized.
173 cadets will study at this course. 25 of them are combatants’ children, including those who lost their parents. There are also young people who were forced to leave their homes in the temporarily occupied territories.
During the ceremony, the cadets paid tribute to the memory of all perished defenders of Ukraine.
‘Today, the SSU together with the Defence Forces is doing everything to liberate our land as soon as possible! You are taking on a very responsible duty: to protect our state and the people of Ukraine. Let your cadet time be filled with personal victories! Reach your goal and be worthy of a defender’s vocation!’ Oleksandr Yakushev summed up.
