In Cherkasy region, the SSU exposed the enemy’s accomplice, who was spreading pro-kremlin propaganda and justifying the occupiers’ actions.

The individual also planned to join the special purpose mobile unit akhmat (better known as omon) of the national guard of russia in the chechen republic.

To do this, he tried to establish contacts with representatives of russian special services and receive from them a task to carry out sabotage in the region.

According to the investigation, the offender is a resident of Severodonetsk, who moved to Cherkasy region in July this year posing as an IDP from the east of Ukraine.

After the move, he repeatedly spoke among locals in support of russia’s full-scale invasion, justified missile strikes on Ukrainian cities and other war crimes committed by the invaders.

The SSU worked proactively and prevented the man from implementing his criminal intentions.

SSU investigators notified him of suspicion of offence under Article 436-2.3 of the CCU (justifying, recognizing as legitimate, denying russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorifying its participants).

The court has ruled on custody as a measure of restraint.

The pre-trial investigation is underway.

The SSU Office in Cherkasy region exposed the suspect under the procedural supervision of Cherkasy Region Prosecutor’s Office.
