Donetsk region: SBU exposes notary on abuse of office

In Mariupol city, the SBU cyber specialists exposed a notary who entered false data into the state electronic information resources of the Ministry of Justice.

The operatives established that the local notary and his assistants had created an illegal scheme of amending the registers of the Ministry of Justice. This scheme caused leakage of sensitive information. Also assistants of the notary illegally certified the property documents, issued in the territory of the so-called “DNR”.

The SBU documented almost 450 cases of unauthorized interference and changes to the register of the Ministry of Justice with the usage of a private notary electronic key.

During the searches of the notary's office, the law enforcement officers seized documents that will be attached to the case.

The investigation is ongoing upon the fact of willful interference with the operation of computers, computer systems and networks.

The operation was conducted under the coordination of the SBU Department for Counterintelligence Protection of the State's Interests in the Sphere of Information Security jointly with the National Police under the supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor's Office.
