The Security Service of Ukraine blocked the activities of an organized group in the Kyiv region, attempting to set up a scheme for the illegal sale of weapons and ammunition. Allegedly, among the potential clients were representatives of criminal circles of the region.

The members of the group stored the weapons in a specially equipped room with video surveillance and alarm system.

During the searches of the hidden weapons storage, the law enforcement officers found:

• one kilo of plastid-like explosive;
• 0,4 kilo of TNT;
• four F-1 grenades with fuses;
• three firearms with silencers;
• 1,000 rounds of various calibers.

The seized items were sent for examination.

The issues of serving the suspicion papers to the both perpetrators and choosing a type of detention are being settled.

The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the case, including the sources of the weapons.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
