The Security Service of Ukraine documented the corruption of the Deputy Chief of the Investigation Division of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.

Allegedly, the official demanded USD 8,000 from the suspect for reclassification of the article in criminal proceedings initiated for intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm.

According to Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the law enforcement officers detained the defendant, receiving the full amount of the bribe in his own car.

Within the framework of the initiated criminal proceedings on acceptance of the offer, the promise or reception of illegal financial gain by the official, investigative actions are under way.

The operation was conducted jointly with the DBR under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor's Office of Lviv region.
