In Mykolaiv region, the SBU prevented misappropriation of municipal recreation center in a resort zone. A head of a division of the State Executive Service was involved in the illegal activity.

The SBU operatives established that the officials had put up for sale the real estate belonging to the debtor, which is a public utility enterprise. The offenders set a price for the resort that is seven times lower than the market price of similar facilities on the coast.

In addition, the sale procedure took place with numerous violations of the law. The potential damage to the budget could be almost UAH 7 m. (USD 250,000). The investigation is ongoing upon the fact of abuse of office. The law enforcement officers initiated the seizure of the Aviator recreation center.

The investigating judge of the Central district court of Mykolaiv made the decision on suspension of the recreation center sale procedure.

The operation was conducted jointly with the investigators of the National Police under supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Mykolaiv region.
