In Mykolaiv region, SBU officers exposed and stopped illegal extraction of granite in a quarry.

The criminal scheme was organized by enterprises on which the National Security and Defense Council imposed sanctions in April 2021. Among them is a shell company and its affiliated firms that blocked the program Great Construction.

The offenders used illegally mined granite on their own asphalt mixing plants and, accordingly, released pollutants into the air.

During the authorized searches, the SBU seized:

• production equipment;
• trucks;
• bulldozer;
• excavator.

Criminal proceeding was initiated for air pollution.

The operation was carried out jointly with the Main National Police Directorate in Mykolaiv region, regional divisions of the State Ecological Inspection and the State Labor Inspectorate, under the supervision of Mykolaiv District Prosecutor's Office.
