Part of Samara-Western Direction oil product pipeline sequestrated

The High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HACC), on the basis of evidence collected jointly by the SBU, NABU, Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) and Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO), decided to sequestrate part of the Samara-Western Direction oil product pipeline. The law enforcement is currently investigating the illegal exclusion of the above pipeline from state property. The relevant decision was taken by the investigating judge of the HACC on February 23, 2021.

The sequestrated property (including buildings, facilities, other assets located in Ukraine and ensuring the operation of the oil pipeline) is to be transferred from the commercial company to the National Agency of Ukraine for finding, tracing and management of assets derived from corruption and other crimes (ARMA).

At present, the SBU and the NABU are taking measures to transfer the entire oil pipeline facility under the control of Ukrtransnafta JSC.

To remind, earlier the SBU investigators and the NABU detectives found out that employees of PrykarpatZakhidTrans LLC knowingly used forged documents to illegally appropriated state property worth over UAH 200 m (USD 7,1 m).

The law enforcement officers carried out procedural actions upon the fact of illegal appropriation of a strategic object of the state transport infrastructure.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, measures are being taken to identify and bring to justice all persons involved into the illegal activity.
