Leadership of Defence Forces award SSU officers for merits on frontline

The leaders of the Defence Forces congratulated the SSU on its 31st anniversary and presented departmental awards to distinguished employees.

The event was attended by Minister of Defence Oleksii Reznikov, Head of the State Protection Directorate Major General Serhii Rud and Head of the State Special Communications Service Brigadier General Yurii Shchyhol.

‘Today we are serving Ukraine together, fighting at the frontline. I know how much the staff of the SSU contribute to our common cause. I thank the entire personnel of the SSU! On behalf of all members of the Security and Defence Forces, we express our respect to you and together we are moving towards Victory!’ Oleksii Reznikov remarked.

The Minister of Defence presented 32 awards to the SSU servicemen, including the Badge of Honour, firearms and medals For Assistance in Defence, Golden Trident and For Assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Head of the State Protection Directorate noted the SSU’s significant achievements in defending the state and presented 12 departmental awards to SSU officers. ‘Let the number of your combat departures be always equal to the number of your returns from accomplished missions!’ Serhii Rud commented.

‘It is our common task to withstand and win. All the Security and Defence Forces, the whole country, each of us is doing everything possible and even impossible for this. On behalf of the staff of the State Special Communications Service, I would like to thank the SSU employees for their courage and heroism, for their selfless and effective work for the sake of Ukraine’s future. I am convinced that our cooperation in protecting critical infrastructure, countering the aggressor, including in cyberspace, will only expand,’ added Yurii Shchyhol, Head of the State Special Communications Service.

The SSU Head, Major General Vasyl Maliuk, thanked the colleagues from the Defence Forces for cooperation in protecting our country and their personal contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities.

Vasyl Maliuk presented the leadership of the Defence Forces with three Cross of Honour commemorative insignias.

‘Today, we are fighting the aggressor together - fighting in the hottest spots, neutralizing the internal enemy and thus doing everything to speed up liberation of our lands! Together, we are strong! Together, we will win!’ the SSU Head summarized.
