On 25 September, the Security Service of Ukraine launched a series of court-authorized searches as part of criminal proceedings concerning abuse in freight transport sector of Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian railways).

Investigative and operational measures are being carried out exclusively in relation to officials of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia and private entrepreneurs involved.

The searches of Ukrzaliznytsia officials are not related to ‘pressure on the independence of anti-corruption institutions,’ as their representatives claimed today.

All actions are carried out in line with Ukrainian law.

Any abuse in the field of railway transport, which plays a key role in the logistics of the Security and Defence Forces, the supply of weapons and cargo to the front, is unacceptable.
