Through joint efforts, SSU acts to prevent migration crisis on borders - Ivan Bakanov

The events on the EU - Belarus border are part of hybrid warfare, and the Security Service is taking a full range of measures to prevent a similar scenario in Ukraine. This was stated by the Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov after an interagency meeting on state border protection in Lutsk.

‘Currently, such a scenario is unlikely. However, we are working proactively and doing everything so that these events, even theoretically, do not happen in real life. That is why today we gathered in Lutsk to agree on measures to counter such a manifestation of hybrid warfare. We don’t just keep the situation under control, but carry out all the necessary organizational and operational work,’ Ivan Bakanov stressed.

He said that the SSU, within its powers, is actively taking counterintelligence, operational and investigative steps.

The SSU is sharing information with the National Police and the State Border Guard Service, creating joint mobile groups to work in border areas.

Ivan Bakanov is convinced that Ukraine will be able to successfully resist another manifestation of hybrid warfare and maintain stability and security.
