SSU shuts down bot farm, dismantles organized criminal group and detains pseudo-volunteer (video)
The SSU continues to systematically expose and detain collaborators and traitors. Latest operations include shutting down a bot farm run by Russia to incite conflicts and hatred in Ukraine.
In Odesa region:
The SSU cyber specialists blocked a bot farm, which spread targeted disinformation with threats of violence against members of Hungarian national minority in Transcarpathia.
‘Bots’ used sim-cards of Ukrainian operators and massively sent anonymous messages. The messages were received not only by residents of Western regions of Ukraine, but also by residents of other regions.
The criminals used special telecommunication equipment located in Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa, and Vinnytsia.
They were led by a native of Kyiv, who is currently hiding abroad. He recruited about 20 people who worked in the regions.
The bot farm has been shut down, all ‘bots’ have been established, searches are underway.
In Kirovohrad region:
The SSU neutralized a criminal group whose members since the beginning of Russian invasion promoted the idea of RuZZkiy Mir and incited Ukrainian military to anti-government actions.
Its organizer is a local criminal known as Futbolist. In late February, he fled to Rostov, where he was met by the FSB.
At the instructions of Russian special services, he reformatted the ‘work’ of the group: called not to help the Armed Forces and to support sabotage groups. After his return, he promised to establish cooperation with the occupiers and protect everyone.
Members of the group immediately began to ‘indoctrinate’ local businessmen according to pro-Russian views.
The SSU special purpose unit neutralized the criminal influence of the active members of the group. The detainees are testifying and cooperating with the investigation.
In Dnipropetrovsk region:
The SSU detained a pseudo-volunteer, whose activity undermined defence capability of the Ukrainian Army.
A resident of Kryvyi Rih gained trust of a local manufacturer of military equipment. He was given free ammunition to be sent to the front line. However, the fraudster sold it to real volunteers at high prices.
In Lviv:
An official of one of the hospitals tried to bribe an officer of the SSU to arrange unimpeded crossing of the state border under martial law.
He was detained while trying to hand over USD 15,000.
In Vinnytsia region:
The SSU detained a supporter of the militants of the so-called DNR. She praised the occupiers and militants of armed groups, calling them a ‘powerful army’ that is supposed to ‘liberate Ukraine’.
All these individuals were detained and will be held accountable for their actions.
