The SBU cyber specialists exposed another network spreading propaganda and conducting subversive activity against Ukraine. In Lutsk, the law enforcement neutralized a large-scale troll farm financed by Russia.

Following the tasks of FSB curators, the perpetrators used social media to call for violation of territorial integrity of Ukraine. They also promoted the idea of establishing the so-called Malorossiya and Novorossiya, as well as accession of Eastern Ukraine to Russia.

To conceal illegal activity, they used covert communication networks arranged at six different locations.

For such illegal activity, agitprops received money in foreign currency via Russian payment system.

The SBU also established that one of the participants is a resident of Lutsk.

They created thousands of fake accounts to spread fake information.

During the searches, the law enforcement seized:

• GSM gateways;
• Computer software;
• Bank cards;
• Over 1,000 SIM cards;
• Financial documents and other materials proving illegal activity.

Within the criminal proceedings initiated for unauthorized interference with the work of electronic computing machines (computer), automated systems, computer networks or telecommunication networks; trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, the investigative actions are underway to establish all the circumstances of the illegal activity and prosecute people involved.

The operation was carried out by the SBU Office in Volyn region under the supervision of the Volyn Region Prosecutor`s Office.
