The SBU Cyber security exposed a hacker group that interfered in computer programs and information resources of higher educational institutions of Vinnytsia region.

The SBU officers established that offenders illegally changed the official information of educational institutions and gained access to files that contain, in particular, answers to exam tickets. The clients sold illegally obtained information for monetary reward.

To block the work of universities during exams, the organizers also carried out DDoS attacks on information and telecommunication systems of educational institutions.

Within the criminal proceedings initiated for an unauthorized interference with the work of electronic computing machines (computers), automated systems, computer networks or telecommunication networks, law enforcement officers seized computer equipment, SIM cards of mobile operators proving the illegal activities, as well as payment cards.

The operation was conducted jointly with the Main National Police Department in Vinnytsia region under the procedural supervision of the Vinnytsia Region Prosecutor's Office.
