SSU detains Internet agents who spread russian propaganda in Ukraine
The SSU has dismantled a network of russian agents who disseminated disinformation in the Internet about the situation at the front and called on citizens to join the occupiers’ ranks.
In addition, following instructions of the russian Ministry of Defence, they developed provocative leaflets in support of the aggressor and distributed them in the front-line territories.
In Kharkiv region:
The SSU detained a pro-kremlin agitator. He worked as an art director at a local channel and was recruited by russian special services.
Using 20 years of professional experience, the man developed leaflet layouts and directed videos for moral and psychological support of the occupying forces fighting on the territory of Ukraine.
The ‘liaison’ was his daughter, who lives in russia and cooperates with enemy special services.
She sent samples of finished products for ‘approval’ to the russian MoD.
The enemy used such materials for mass distribution among the population of the frontline areas.
In Dnipropetrovsk region:
The SSU neutralized another two collaborators who carried out pro-kremlin propaganda in social networks.
One of them came to the attention of enemy special services when he worked in russia.
After coming back to Ukraine, the agent immediately went on social networks and offered to help occupiers, discredited Ukrainian authorities and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Another resident of the region was involved by russians in subversive activities because of his pro-kremlin views, which he spread in his social circle.
Following instructions of russian supervisors, he spread destructive content through two specialized Internet platforms.
In Rivne region:
The SSU exposed a propagandist who promoted communist ideas and spread totalitarian symbols banned in Ukraine.
Currently, all agents have been notified of suspicion of crimes against Ukraine’s state security. The court is to decide on the type of detention.
The SSU Offices in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Rivne regions carried out the operations under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
