SSU submits to court case against russian actor and propagandist Boris Korchevnikov who called for killing of Ukrainians

The Security Service of Ukraine has completed its pre-trial investigation and brought an indictment against moscow-based propagandist Boris Korchevnikov to court. Korchevnikov publicly supports russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.

Korchevnikov is a former actor in the TV series Cadets and is currently the head of the pro-kremlin TV channel Spas, as well as a presenter of media projects in russia.

The investigation established that he regularly uses media outlets under his control to support russia’s full-scale invasion.

On television, Korchevnikov has justified the war crimes committed by russian aggressors against Ukraine’s civilian population and called for the seizure of our state.

It has also been established that he has repeatedly visited the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

During these ‘tours’ in 2022–2023, he participated in kremlin propaganda events in support of the local occupation administrations.

Based on the investigation by the Security Service of Ukraine, Korchevnikov has been charged under three Articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • 110.2 (encroachment upon the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine);
  • 436-2.3 (justifying, recognising as lawful or denying russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and glorifying its participants through the use of the media);
  • 332-2.2 (illegally crossing the state border of Ukraine).

As the accused is currently in the aggressor state and evading justice, efforts to bring him to justice are ongoing.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the SSU under the procedural supervision of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
