SBU checks possible contacts of Neskoromnyi with Russian special services
The SBU will check possible connections of the former SBU First Deputy Head Dmytro Neskoromnyi with Russian special services. He is suspected of organizing the assassination of Andrii Naumov.
This was stated by the SBU Head Ivan Bakanov during a closed joint meeting of Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence and Committee on Law Enforcement.
“As we can see from some audio recordings published in the media, it is likely that there was no Russian trace here. Therefore, possible connection of the suspect with the secret services of the aggressor country will be studied in detail,” said Ivan Bakanov.
Professional activity of Andrii Naumov, the head of the SBU Internal Security Department is a motive of the preparation of his assassination. He did not allow the criminal group to appoint its members to positions in the SBU. And the published recordings of the conversations of the offenders clearly confirm this.
Ivan Bakanov also noted that the Security Service has a unique experience in assassination detection - only in 2020 there were 12 such cases.
“Exposure of Andrii Naumov on preparation of assassination has no difference from other similar crimes. For us, everyone is equal,” the SBU Head emphasized.
There are high profile cases such as: murder of activist Kateryna Handziuk, prevention of the murder of volunteer Adam Osmayev and the detention of SBU Major General Valerii Shaitanov, who planned the crime.
“Of course, it is unpleasant to have a traitor in our ranks. But the detention of him and other people shows that we have set a course to clean up the SBU. To build a new, effective and efficient special service,” Ivan Bakanov stressed.
Ivan Bakanov also emphasized that the Service operates exclusively with facts and evidence. “Our task is to prevent crimes and do everything to keep the country safe. Instead of reacting to the PR waves. Especially when they are still fed from the outside and have obvious motives,” said Ivan Bakanov.
We shall remind, that on January 27 the SBU published proofs of involvement of the former SBU First Deputy Head Dmytro Neskoromnyi in preparation of assassination of the head of the SBU Main Department of Internal Security Andrii Naumov.
Neskoromnyi was served a notice of suspicion of trespass against life of a law enforcement officer.
