Kyiv city: SBU prevents illegal seizure of real estate belonging to state-owned plant

The SBU documented and prevented the illegal alienation of property belonging to a Kyiv plant. The enterprise is owned by the Ukrainian state in the person of the State Property Fund.

SBU operatives established that the illegal alienation was initiated by the Main State Tax Service Department in the city of Kyiv to recover debts of the enterprise. As a result, more than 6,000 m2 of real estate located in the downtown became the property of a private commercial entity.

Law enforcement documented that five facilities of the plant were illegally sold via the state enterprise "Setam" for more than UAH 23,5 m. (USD 839,285). According to the experts, the market value of such objects is much higher.

Also, such illegal actions blocked the possibility of privatizing the enterprise, which was planned with the start of large-scale privatization in Ukraine.

Thanks to well-coordinated actions of the SBU, NABU and the State Property Fund, the Supreme Court of Ukraine upheld the alienation of the plant's property.

The relevant authorities are taking measures to take back the real estate to state ownership and unblock the process of large-scale privatization.

The issue of criminal prosecution of the identified persons is currently being resolved.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

The operation was carried out by officers of the SBU Main Directorate for Counterintelligence Protection of the State's Economic Interests jointly with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the State Property Fund.
