SSU warns: russia set to launch info- and psy-ops on situation in temporarily occupied Oleshky
The Security Service of Ukraine is warning that russia has stepped up its preparations for a series of information and psychological operations regarding the situation in the temporarily occupied town of Oleshky in the Kherson region. This information was received by the SSU in the course of its counterintelligence activities.
According to operational data, servicemen from one of the occupying units have been ordered to prepare a series of ‘compromising’ interviews with the residents of the occupied town.
In these videos, local residents are required to:
- accuse the Ukrainian Defence Forces of constant shelling and the blockade of the town;
- discredit the decisions of Ukraine’s military and political leadership;
- express a positive attitude and gratitude towards the military of the aggressor state.
According to the intelligence, the adversary intends to carry out this information and psychological operation in October – early November this year.
The enemy is failing on the battlefield and is therefore attempting to undermine the psychological and emotional state of Ukrainians by any means and destabilise the situation within our country.
We call on representatives of the Ukrainian media and members of the public:
- to take a critical view when such ‘sensational’ information emerges;
- not to trust publications by hostile or pro-russian Telegram channels;
- not to disseminate unverified information;
- to use information exclusively from official sources.
The Security Service of Ukraine is working to counteract the attempts of russian intelligence services and the military to conduct information and psychological operations against Ukraine. The SSU continues to expose the enemy’s plans timely and take action to neutralise them.
