SSU notifies Azarov of new suspicion and exposes official in Kyiv who prepared his speeches for russian TV even during the war (video)
The SSU has documented new crimes of former Ukrainian prime minister Mykola Azarov, who is suspected of high treason.
Hiding from justice outside of Ukraine, he is actively collaborating with russian intelligence services and carrying out their instructions to conduct subversive activities against our country.
To do this, he disseminates the kremlin’s narratives in his comments to enemy propagandists, including on Solovyov and Skabeeva’s talk shows.
There, Azarov regularly justifies russia’s armed aggression, temporary occupation of part of Ukraine and spreads fakes about Ukraine’s military and political leadership.
The texts of Azarov’s public speeches were prepared by his assistant, a current civil servant at one of Kyiv’s district administrations.
The servant was doing this even after russia’s full-scale invasion.
The woman also agreed online with the representatives of russian and belarusian information resources the time and topics of the traitor’s participation in live broadcasts or recording comments.
The official communicated with Azarov and enemy propagandists not only from her own home, but also from her office in the building of a state institution.
In addition, the woman administered the former prime minister’s Telegram and YouTube channels, as well as his personal pages on social media.
There, she spun provocative materials repeating the kremlin’s rhetoric on the war in Ukraine and misinformed about the socio-political situation in our country.
Before sending Azarov ‘talking points’ for his speeches and publishing posts on his online resources, the aide remotely agreed all materials with his other assistant based in moscow. The latter is her former colleague, who left for the aggressor state after the full-scale invasion.
The investigation also established that the exposed official from Kyiv headed a division of the Humanitarian support fund, created by Azarov to finance the anti-Ukrainian Committee for salvation of Ukraine. Through these institutions, the suspect was regularly paid for her ‘services’.
During the searches, investigators seized computer equipment and a mobile phone, which she used to communicate with the fugitive ex-PM, his moscow assistant and russian propagandists.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served Azarov a notice of suspicion under four Articles of the CCU:
- 111.2 (high treason committed under martial law);
- 28.2, 109 (actions aimed at forceful change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power, committed by prior conspiracy);
- 110.2 (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability);
- 436-2.2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
Earlier, his criminal actions were qualified under Article 111.1 of the CCU (high treason).
Two of his assistants have been notified of suspicion under Articles of the CCU:
- 28.2, 109 (actions aimed at forceful change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power, committed by prior conspiracy);
- 110.2 (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability);
- 436-2.2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The court is to decide on custody as a measure of restraint for the exposed civil servant. Comprehensive efforts are underway to bring the other suspects to prosecution.
The investigation was conducted under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
