SSU serves notice of suspicion to cleric of UOC-MP Kyiv monastery who justified russia’s war against Ukraine

The SSU has documented information and subversive activities of another representative of Ukrainian Orthodox Church of moscow patriarchate.

The cleric in question is an archimandrite of a monastery in Kyiv.

According to the investigation, he justified russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine on social media and spread fakes about the socio-political situation in Ukraine.

During the searches at the suspect’s home in the premises of the monastery, evidence of crimes was found.

SSU investigators notified the priest of suspicion under Article 436-2.2 of the CCU (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

The investigation is ongoing. The offence under this Article is punishable by 5 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
