SSU serves suspicion notices to five traitors who helped russia to storm Ukrainian positions near Siversk

The SSU has collected evidence against another five traitors who fought against the Defense Forces on the Eastern front.

In June of this year, the occupiers and their accomplices tried to break through to Siversk and Toretsk, Donetsk region. Ukrainian defenders killed almost all the soldiers of the aggressor's assault groups and took the rest prisoner.

The prisoners included four residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. In February and March 2022, they joined the occupation groups of the Southern Military District of the russian armed forces.

One of them is a sniper from the 85th separate motorized rifle brigade of the aggressor country. He participated in the capture of Popasna, Luhansk region, and was later deployed to the Siversk sector.

Two more were a division commander and a driver from the 4th separate motorized rifle brigade of the russian army, who took part in the capture of Sievierodonetsk.

After that, they stormed the AFU positions in the areas of Bilohorivka and Zolotarivka to break through to Siversk.

The fourth traitor was a member of the 132nd separate motorized rifle brigade of the russian armed forces. As a machine gunner, he fired at Ukrainian defenders near Toretsk.

Another prisoner is a resident of the temporarily occupied part of Kharkiv region. In June of this year, he went to moscow, and signed a contract with the russian ministry of defense.

Later, he was assigned to the 59th assault platoon of the 2nd tank regiment of the aggressor country.

After a short training, the traitor was sent as a member of an assault group to attack the AFU positions near the village of Terny, Donetsk region. There he was taken prisoner.

Based on the evidence collected, the SSU notified the offenders of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 111.1, 111.2 (high treason);
  • 111-1.7 (voluntary participation of a citizen of Ukraine in unlawful armed formations or paramilitary groups created in the temporarily occupied territory and/or in the armed groups of the aggressor state).

The offenders face life imprisonment.

The operation was conducted under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Region Prosecutor's Office.
