SBU serves notice of suspicion to Russian cleric for interrogation of Ukrainian prisoners in “DNR”
SBU served in absentia a notice of suspicion to Russian cleric who was a member of the DNR terrorist organization.
The investigation found that he “served” in a Donetsk church. In 2014, he joined DNR 11th separate motorized rifle regiment "Vostok" as a military chaplain and a regimental priest. Then he was "promoted" to an assistant commander for working with religious militants.
SBU officers documented that during his term of office the “man of the cloth” repeatedly participated in torturing of Ukrainian prisoners of war during their interrogations, gave instructions on illegal imprisonment of citizens.
The terrorist was served in absentia a notice of suspicion of creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization (Part 1 of Art. 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation is ongoing.
