SSU serves suspicion notices to another 3 militants, including commander of russian paratroopers who stormed Robotyne
The SSU has collected evidence against another three traitors who fought against the Defence Forces in southern Ukraine.
In 2023, they all voluntarily joined russian occupation troops and stormed Ukrainian positions in Zaporizhzhia oblast.
In November and late December last year, the militants were taken prisoner by Ukrainian defenders during fierce battles near Robotyne and Verbove.
One of them is the commander of a unit of the 108th air assault regiment of the aggressor’s armed forces.
Until 2014, he lived in the temporarily occupied Zhdanivka, Donetsk region, and then moved to Krasnodar Krai, russia.
In October 2023, he signed a contract with russia’s MoD and underwent training in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk region.
The ‘serviceman’ was appointed to command an enemy unit and was deployed to the southern front.
Another traitor is a native of Makiivka, Donetsk region. In late September last year, he ‘enlisted’ to russia’s 234th air assault regiment.
In the invaders’ unit, he equipped enemy fortifications, including the dragon’s teeth, and shelled the AFU’s positions in Zaporizhzhia oblast.
The third militant is a resident of the temporarily occupied Horlivka. In August 2023, he voluntarily joined the 71st motorized rifle regiment of the russian army.
He has taken part in storming Ukrainian defence strongholds during the battles near Robotyne.
In the course of the investigation, the militants have testified about the war crimes of their accomplices who shot Ukrainian prisoners of war.
Based on the evidence, the SSU has notified the three individuals of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspects are in custody, facing life imprisonment.
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
