SSU declares another four pseudo-bloggers suspects for disclosing AFU positions
The Security Service of Ukraine has uncovered new facts of unauthorized dissemination of information on the deployment and combat operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In Cherkasy, the SSU Counterintelligence detained a 50-year-old supporter of ruscism who recorded the work of Ukrainian air defence forces during air raid alerts and leaked the videos on Telegram.
The man was also ‘whitewashing’ russia’s war crimes in comments on social media and spreading fake news about Ukrainian PoWs.
In Mykolaiv, the SSU Military Counterintelligence blocked an attempt to disseminate information on the Internet about the movement of Ukrainian troops in the southern region.
As a result of the operation, a 31-year-old contract soldier of a Ukrainian combat brigade has been notified of suspicion after he posted a video of his unit’s movement on his TikTok page.
In Donetsk oblast, a 37-year-old resident of Sloviansk was detained. He was wanted for evading mobilisation and disclosing the geolocations of the Defence Forces in the Kramatorsk sector on social media.
The perpetrator disseminated the videos with such data on his YouTube channel, which had a total audience of over 11,000 users.
In Dnipropetrovsk region, a 34-year-old administrator of a Viber group was exposed for publishing coordinates of Ukrainian checkpoints and temporary bases of the Defence Forces in the chat.
A forensic examination initiated by the Security Service confirmed the suspects’ illegal activities.
Computer equipment and mobile phones containing evidence of the crimes were found during the searches of their homes.
SSU investigators have notified the perpetrators of suspicion, in accordance with the offences committed, under the Articles of the CCU:
- 114-2.1, 114-2.2 (dissemination of information on the movement or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine);
- 436-2.1 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The perpetrators face up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operations were carried out under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Offices.
