SSU declares three traitors suspects: they fought against Ukrainian troops in Kursk region
The SSU has collected evidence against three Ukrainian citizens who, as part of the russian army, tried to stop the operation of the Defense Forces in Kursk region but were captured.
According to the investigation, they served in russia’s 810th separate marine brigade. In August and September this year, they fired at the AFU positions near Sudzha.
They were captured along with other surviving occupiers after Ukrainian assault units, supported by artillery, destroyed an enemy convoy near the town.
One of the detained enemy servicemen is a traitor from the Crimea who enrolled in the units of russia’s southern military district in November 2022.
Another traitor is a resident of the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk region. From there he fled to russia and signed a contract with the russian ministry of defense in one of military enlistment offices of moscow.
The third perpetrator is a native of Chernihiv region, Ukraine. After the onset of the full-scale war, he moved to Bryansk, russia, where he received a russian passport and voluntarily joined the ranks of the occupiers.
The SSU has notified the three individuals of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU – high treason, committed under martial law. The suspects are in custody and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Sumy region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
