SSU investigates russian officials who used Berdiansk seaport to send troops to frontline
The SSU has collected evidence against another three russian high-ranking officials involved in the aggressive war against Ukraine.
The offenders include the following:
- Oleksandr Poshyvai - deputy minister of transport of the russian federation;
- Zakharii Dzhioiev - head of the federal agency for sea and inland water transport of russia;
- Serhii Safonichev - head of the administration of the sea ports of the Azov Sea of the aggressor country.
After the capture of Berdiansk, they organized the use of the local commercial seaport for the needs of the russian ministry of defense.
According to the investigation, the perpetrators used civilian vessels of the port to deploy russian troops to the temporarily occupied regions of southern Ukraine.
This became especially crucial for the kremlin after the explosion on the Kerch Bridge, which disrupted the invaders' logistics routes and supplies through the temporarily occupied peninsula.
In addition, the occupiers constructed russian fortifications and barriers on the territory of the Berdiansk port and its waters.
Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served Poshyvai, Dzhioiev and Safonichev suspicion notices in absentia under Articles 27.5, 28.2, 437.2 of the CCU (aiding and abetting in the conduct of aggressive war committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy).
Since the suspects are in russia, efforts are underway o bring them to justice for crimes against Ukraine.
The investigation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
