In Zakarpattia region, the SBU conducted tactical-special training exercises at Uzhhorod international airport.

According to the training plan, the so-called terrorists hijacked a helicopter, barricaded themselves in the plane and took passengers hostage. The terrorists made demand referring to economic and political spheres.

In particular, the terrorists demanded an armored cash-in-transit vehicle with USD 1 m. in cash and six ballistics vests. The offenders insisted on the public recognition of the JFO as a civil war. The official statement should have been announced on behalf of the head of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration.

During the special operation, the law enforcement specialists neutralized the terrorists and released the hostages.

The drills were conducted in close-to-real conditions. The SBU, the National Guard, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Police, the State Border Guard Service, the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection, the State Emergency Service as well as the representatives of executive bodies and local government took part in the drills.  

The Coordination Group noted that the participants organized good interdepartmental cooperation to counteract subversive and terrorist threats.
