Kyiv city: SBU holds anti-terror drills (video)

The Security Service of Ukraine together with the Embassy of the State of Israel held special exercise in the city of Kyiv. The aim of the exercise was to develop a mechanism for releasing hostages taken by conditional terrorists in a synagogue in Kyiv.

According to the exercise script, the simulated terrorists took hostage the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel and those who were in the synagogue. The participants of the exercise worked out the algorithm of interdepartmental interaction under extreme conditions.

During the exercise, special forces operatives of the SBU Center of Special Operations "A" rescued all the simulated hostages and detained the simulated terrorists.

The exercise took place on the territory of the Brodsky Choral Synagogue in the Pechersk district of Kyiv. Among the participants of the exercise were units of the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, the State Emergency Service, the National Guard and representatives of executive authorities.

The leadership of the ATC Headquarters at the SBU noted the high level of coordination and efficiency of all the participants of the exercise. Foreign partners from the State of Israel thanked all the participants for their cooperation on security issues.
