SSU conducts searches of Murayev and his associates
The SSU has carried out a series of searches of the head of the banned pro-russian party Nashi [Ours] Yevhen Murayev. As a result of investigative actions, cash, including russian rubles, weapons, computer equipment and mobile phones, as well as other material evidence have been seized.
The searches took place at homes and offices of Murayev, his family and closest associates and were conducted within the criminal proceedings under the Article 111.1 of the CCU (high treason).
Currently, Murayev is hiding from justice abroad.
Nevertheless, the SSU initiated an independent examination of the politician’s statements. Its findings indicate the attributes of a crime under the Article 111.1 of the CCU (high treason), in particular in the context of harming Ukraine’s information security.
Additionally, according to the investigation, narratives of russian propaganda were repeatedly disseminated on air of the TV channel NASH controlled by Murayev. For this reason, as well as for inciting ethnic and religious hatred, penal sanctions were imposed on this media outlet.
All seized items have been sent for examinations.
Further procedural actions will be taken based on their findings.
The SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region carried out the measures with the operational support of the SSU National Statehood Protection Department and the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
