SSU carries out security measures in Kyiv's government quarter

The SSU is conducting planned counterintelligence (security) measures in Pechersk district of Kyiv, in particular in the government quarter.

The activities are carried out in cooperation with the State Protection Directorate of Ukraine, the National Police and the Military Law Enforcement Service of the AFU.

The purpose is to test the counter-sabotage protection of state facilities and to enhance security of Kyiv residents and persons under state protection.

With the direct participation of representatives of the State Protection Directorate, the security officials are:

  • inspecting the territory and individual premises (apartments, offices, common areas of apartment buildings, public service facilities, etc.) to identify items prohibited for circulation;
  • carrying out checks of citizens who are on the territory of the government quarter.

Security measures are carried out in line with the legal regime of martial law.

During these activities, passage and traffic on Kyiv’s streets may be restricted, IDs may be checked, and vehicles may be inspected.

The SSU asks citizens to be understanding of possible inconveniences and respond appropriately to lawful actions and requests of the law enforcement, to carry identification documents and to observe the curfew.

We emphasize that in its activities, the SSU adheres to the principle of legality and the constitutional inviolability of citizens’ rights and freedoms.
