SSU and Defence Forces strike Azov optical-mechanical plant and Ilsk oil refinery in russia
The Security Service of Ukraine has struck a number of key targets on russian territory that are supporting the war against Ukraine, together with other components of the Defence Forces.
The SSU’s Alfa Special Operations Centre, in conjunction with the Ukrainian Navy, struck the Azov optical-mechanical plant in the Rostov region. According to preliminary information, the following facilities were damaged: optical and foundry production facilities; the assembly workshop; the electroplating shop; and the printed circuit board manufacturing shop. During the attack, Ukrainian Neptune cruise missiles, as well as Ruta, Palyanytsia and Bars missile drones, were deployed.
This enterprise is one of the key opto-electronic sites of the russian corporation Tactical missile armament. It manufactures radar and infrared homing heads for guided missiles, as well as thermal imaging devices and electronic systems for high-precision artillery.
In Azov, hits on railway tankers carrying petroleum, oil and lubricants were also recorded.
Another target on which the Security Service collaborated with the Defence Forces was the Ilsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar krai. Following the strike, two fires were reported at the refinery: one near the tank farm and the other near the ELOU-AVT unit – a primary crude oil processing installation.
Additionally, a russian Pantsir-S2 air defence system was hit in the Rostov oblast.
The Security Service of Ukraine will continue special operations designed to degrade russia’s capacity to produce weapons and their components. Furthermore, systematic strikes are carried out against oil refineries that supply russian armed forces with fuel. These operations also constitute a response to terrorist attacks carried out by the enemy against civilian targets in Ukraine.
