SSU investigates terrorist attack in Kharkiv region in which ruscists blew up their 15-year-old agent

The Security Service of Ukraine has detained an accomplice in the terrorist attack which russian special services organized in Kharkiv region in early February 2025.

Then the enemy used an improvised explosive device to blow up their 15-year-old asset, who brought explosives to a National Guard military unit posing as a courier.

As a result of the incident, the agent and the soldier to whom the ‘parcel’ was addressed died on the spot.

Another enemy accomplice, a 28-year-old unemployed woman from Kharkiv, who manufactured the IED for the ‘courier’ on russia’s instructions, has been detained.

According to the SSU Counterintelligence, the explosive device was equipped with additional destructive elements and a mobile phone for remote activation.

The woman put the bomb in a sports bag and left it in the entrance to her building. From there, it was picked up by a local schoolboy who had been lured into criminal activity by the occupiers through a Telegram channel offering ‘easy money’.

After that, the minor ordered a taxi and drove to the National Guard unit with the explosives.

The enemy tracked his entire route using the GPS navigation in his phone.

When the russians saw that he had arrived at the destination, they remotely activated the IED and eliminated their agent as an ‘unnecessary witness’.

The SSU established the location of the traitor who manufactured the explosive device and detained her at her home.

Components for a new bomb and a mobile phone with evidence of cooperation with russia were seized during searches.

SSU investigators have served the detainee a notice of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 27.5, 258.3 (aiding in a terrorist act that resulted in the death of people);
  • 263.1 (illegal acquisition and storage of an explosive device).

The suspect is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.

The SSU warns: russian intelligence services have started using new tactics. They blow up their agents, use them unwittingly, and then get rid of them as unnecessary witnesses.
